I have noticed that if you send somebody points while they're logged out, there is no message that notifies them about this when they log in, so it looks like they suddenly have these random points.
Is it possible that there could be a message when you log in notifying you that someone has sent you points, and would include their subject and message if they provided one? Kind of like when you missed a QN.
Does the site no longer send an email when points are transferred?
The last time I received points (which was from dusty after round 1 of the qn quiz), I received an email telling me that i'd received points, so I think the email thing still works, unless they stopped it after the points reset.
Is that a new feature? I recently sent someone points, and they later asked me how they got so many points, and when I told them I sent them, they told me they didn't know about it. They weren't logged in at the time.
As far as I know, you still get an email telling you when someone has transferred points. And no, it is not a new feature.
To post 4, do you know if the user in question is receiving other emails from the zone? Are all notifications not getting through or is it just point transfer notifications? If no notifications are getting through, then perhaps they are being caught in a spam filter in a mail program or online interface. Also, the ISP may have blocked emails coming from the zone.
Apparently not, and apparently all other messages are going through. I don't receive Emails when I receive points from someone when I'm logged out either, and all my other messages go through. Sorry. It's starting to look like this topic should be on "Zone BBS Q and A" rather than here. Lol.
Hmm''' I doubt this will work, but it's worth checking anyway. Go to "my account" and the click on the link that says "click here to edit your quicknote filters" or something like that. On that page, scroll down the list of different filters until you get to the one about points transfer messages; make sure this option is set to on by checking the link next to it. I believe this is only for qn's though so i doubt it'll work, but it's worth a shot i guess.
Also in account settings, there is a link indicating whether or not you want to receive emails from the zone. Maybe that box needs to be checked? Also, in case admins and CL's aren't reading this board, try sending one of them a PM if you can't get this issue figured out.
I'll try that. Thanks. I just think it's odd that nobody I sent points to are finding about it, provided they are logged out at the time, and the same happens when I receive points. I'll check that out though.
Ok, perhaps there may be some truth to this: I've just logged in now and found 50000 extra points which I don't remember having yesterday. But the odd thing is that there were no new records in the point transfer transaction history; the last transaction I have was the points from round 1 of the Quicknotes Quiz League. The only things I can think of are that either the admins have screwed it up as a result of the change to the points system and the points reset or the 50000 points I received yesterday were sent out by a CL through the system, though I don't remember seeing a system message about being awarded points. Oh and BTW, I only received 55 points as part of the daily interest thing.
I checked my account settings. Everything was set to send me notifications. Maybe someone can send me points when I log out to test it? Lol. Just kidding.
Well, since we haven't heard from any of the CL's on this topic, maybe you should try sending one of them a PM to get their attention.
I might have to do that, although it's not a serious issue. I was just wondering about it.
